These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Met Taxi website, mobile web app, and ride-hailing services (“Services”). By using Met Taxi, you agree to these Terms.
1. Using Met Taxi
Met Taxi connects passengers seeking rides with independent drivers who operate their own vehicles. We are a technology platform, not a transportation provider. We do not employ drivers and are not responsible for the acts or omissions of drivers or passengers.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Bookings and payments
When you book a ride, you agree to pay the fare shown at the time of booking, plus any applicable fees, tolls, or charges. Fares are quoted in your selected currency and converted at checkout when paying through Met QR Bank. Drivers receive the amount shown in their dashboard after any platform and payment processing deductions.
4. Cancellations
Passengers may cancel a ride before pickup, but a cancellation fee may apply if the driver has already arrived or traveled a significant distance. Drivers may cancel in limited circumstances, such as safety concerns or inability to reach the passenger.
5. Conduct
Users must treat each other with respect. The following is prohibited:
- Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour
- Damaging a driver’s vehicle or passenger property
- Using the service for illegal purposes
- Providing false information or impersonating another person
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Ratings and reviews
Passengers may rate and review drivers after completed trips. Reviews must be honest and may not contain offensive, defamatory, or irrelevant content. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our policies.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Met Taxi is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the ride giving rise to the claim.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the revised Terms. Significant changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ghana.
